The Kennebec County Supreme Judicial Court considered a trespassing charge against Peter Holb rook (of Starks), et al. as defendents in October 1813. Peter Holbrook's Revolutionary War pension file declaration indicates that he was born in Wiscasset in 1753 and moved to Starks in 1781 where he lived until the pension filing on 8 April 1834. He enlisted in the Army of the United States as a private in June 1775 for four months with Captain John Groves and served in Col. Handen's regiment of the Massachusetts line. He served at Duckt??, Belfast, Fox Islands & Coxes Head on the coast of Maine. He was verbally discharged at Coxe's Head at the mouth of the Kennebec River in October of that same year. In May 1779, he was drafted for six months in Lt. Tibbet's company in Col. McCobb's regt. and he served at Townsend Harbor on the the coast of Maine and was verbally discharged in November of the same year. William Young of Starks, aged eighty years signed a testimony that he knew Peter "from a boy" and that he served in the same company and regiment as Peter and confirmed his service record. Benjamin Young of Mercer, age eighty three years, also signed a statement saying that he knew Peter 'from a boy" and served with him in the Army in the same company and regiment.
