LIsted in the Sixth Catalogue of [Theta Delta Chi] as being in the Cornell class of 1909 (201 Wesey Ave, Oak Park, IL)
In 1940 census, there is a James W Ullmann at 711 Oak Park Avenue, Oak Park, IL. Household members: James W Ullmann, age 53; wife Gladys Ullmann, age 33; daughter Susanne Ullmann, age 10; son Herbert Ullmann, age 9. Sounds very likely him, especially as identifying the “bride’s cousin Suzanne Ullmann” who participated in the wedding of Claire Ullmann & William G. Nutting.
The following June 2, 1927, Lowell Tribune article appeared on page 1, column 5:
SMITH - ULLMAN
Miss Gladys Smith and James W. Ullman were united in marriage at the home of the bride's parents at 7419 Wentworth avenue, Chicago, at 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 18th. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Will Smith, formerly of Lowell, and has a host of friends. The groom resides at Oak Park. He was an officer in the Navy during the World war and at present time he is in command of the Naval Reserves in Chicago. The newly married couple will reside at 423 Euclid avenue, Oak Park.
There were about thirty guests at the wedding, including Mrs. Martha Love, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Randolph and Mr. and Mrs. V.K. Roberts, of Lowell, and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Seyfarth, of Chicago, and other relatives and friends.
