He was cashier of te City Bank at Racine, Wis. He entered the U.S. Army of Vols., under commission as Capt. of Co. A, in the 2nd Regt. of N.Y. Vols., April 23, 1861, and served as such at the battle of Chancellorsville, Va., where he was wounded. He was afterwards made Capt. in the First Army Corps, and Brevet Major. He resides now in Washington, D.C.
