Misc. Notes
Marti worked for many years with her husband Les in their store, Halfmoon Ranch Supply. They enjoyed countless hours visiting with friends, family, and anyone else that happened into the store. As they “retired,” she and Les spent time doing things they loved — fishing, (it’s hard to beat a fresh fish) and “treasure hunting” at auctions and yard sales.
She reveled in the beauty and serenity of the Valley, but also appreciated the beauty of other places, taking memorable trips sailing to the Bahamas and driving to Alaska. Marti kept her camera readily available and many of those images took ribbons at the Northwest Montana Fair.
Marti had a sincere and knowledgeable passion for horses, becoming well-known for her Sweetheart Paints. She was a member of the APHA, and many will remember CBS Joe and Smooth As Silk “Smoothy.” What better unity for a woman and her horse than team-penning, an event she enjoyed for many years. She was also active with 4-H, mentoring her granddaughter, her great-nieces, and many others in the horsemanship arena.
