That there was a son is known by the fact that in 1643 Anthony Emery mentions having three children and in 1700 James Emery of Kittery, but then of Dedham, gives his sister Rebecca Eaton alias Sadler a quitclaim to the estate of Anthony Emery late deceased. In this he is described as the only surviving son of Anthony Emery late of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, and in power of attorney given by Anthony Emery to his kinsman John Emery of Newbury he mentions sons. It is probable that the name of this son was Anthony.
